JN - With You Around - See Me Smiling

The sun comes up and you are all over my mind

You're in my brain before I can open my eyes

"What are you talking about Mark?"
"You were caught making out with that girl from the signing." He told me.
"Stella broke up with me today." He didn't say anything for a moment on the other line.
"Is she your rebound girl? Do I have to be prepared to make statements?" God what is with everyone thinking like that? I wanted to rip his head off but I thought what Em had said.
"She is not. I do actually like her. She's the first girl to stand up to me. And I found that attractive. She's like a challenge for me." I responded calmly.
"That's good James. Someone needs to challenge you. I'm glad you found someone who does." I could tell he was sincere. It was a nice feeling. "Have a good night. Good luck tomorrow." I smiled into the phone before driving off toward home.

Hey sleepyhead! Just wanted to let you know I'm on my way. Should take about 4 hours. Good luck today!

I woke up to Emmaleigh's text. That made me smile. I glanced at the time and looked when she sent it. She would be halfway there by now. I texted her back to have a safe trip then I jumped in the shower. I was bummed not to have a text from her but reminded myself that she is driving. I continued my morning routine and took a stroll over to my good friend and neighbor Paul Martin's house for breakfast. He makes a mean omelette.
"Morning Paul." I called as I let myself into the house.
"Morning," he called from the kitchen. I could smell the bacon on the skillet.
"Smells good!" He nodded and I poured myself a glass of orange juice.
"How was the signing?" He asked.
"It was good. I met a girl."
"What about Stella?"
"She broke up with me. She did cheat on me like I expected."
"Sorry to hear that man." He set my plate of eggs and bacon in front of me. "So tell me about this new girl."
"Her name is Emmaleigh, she is 25. She works on the North Shore and does some freelance photography on the side. She is short has long brown hair and light brown eyes. I could get lost in those eyes." Paul then took a seat next to me on the counter.
"So how exactly did you meet her at the signing?"
"She called me out on my attitude." He choked on his orange juice. "I know and I was so in shock too that I couldn't explain anything to her that moment so I made Mark get her after she left." He nodded as he stuffed a piece of bacon in his mouth. "She wasn't happy but I convinced her to talk so then I took her out to dinner. She is gorgeous. I can't wait for you to meet her on Tuesday!"
"Where will she be on Tuesday?"
"Her and her uncle are attending the game so I offered to upgrade her seats. Also they coming to the locker room afterward."
"That was nice of you man." He smiled at me. I felt a vibration in my pocket and took out my phone hoping it was Em but it wasn't. Just then I heard Paul's phone beep as well. "TK?" He asked and I nodded. Too bad Em was away and couldn't attend the board game night we were having at Tyler's that evening. Paul and I finished our breakfast talking about the afternoon game we had against the Rangers. We talked about Marc Staal's injury and how it was a shame it happened. "See you down there!"
"Thanks for breakfast." I walked the short distance back to my house and continued the routine. I made sure my hair was in place before I left the house. I was in the middle of putting on my gear when I heard my phone buzz across the wooden seat.

Hey I arrived safely. I'm taking my cousins bowling so I won't be able to watch the game. I know you'll kick some butt though! :)

A smiled appeared wide across my face when I read her text. I was bummed that she wasn't able to watch but she knew I would kick some butt! She is too cute!
"Nealer why you smiling so wide?" Team captain Sidney Crosby asked as he approached his locker next to mine. "Did Stella say something dirty?" He laughed.
"Stella broke up with me yesterday. This is Emmaleigh." I told him. "She is great! You'll get meet her Tuesday."
"Glad you got rid of Stella. She was no good for you man." I nodded not knowing why I didn't break up with her a long time ago. I texted Em back and finished getting ready for the game! The crowd was insane and we beat the rangers 3-0. Fleury now holds the records for most shutouts in the franchise

I texted her after I was showered and ready to leave. I told her we won and I really wish to see her before Tuesday. I was just waiting for Tyler to finish getting his shoes on before I followed him back to his house to set up for game night. I felt my phone buzz in my pocket.

I'll let you know because my uncle will be up for a few days. And I don't get to see him often.

I was bummed that it wasn't a definite yes but she should spend time with her uncle. "Ready to go?" Tyler asked me. I nodded and followed him out of the locker room.

"Boardwalk!" Screamed Sidney. He was so happy now that he owned that whole side of the board. Including myself and Tyler, Marc, Sidney, Brandon and Matt were present. We were on our second game of the night. I texted Em. She should join us for the next game night!
“Come on Nealer! It’s your turn!” Sid told me. I looked where I was on the game board. I was on waterworks and needed a 12 to get through all of the property Sid owned.
“Come 12!” I exclaimed while shaking the dice in my hands. I blew on them before letting them roll onto the game board! “Alright!” I stated and made my way to GO!
“You got lucky that time.” He stated. Marc passed me $200 and I felt my phone vibrate.

Ah! I love game nights! I'm watching the Lorax with my cousins.

I watched the Lorax with my cousins this pass Christmas. It was a good movie. I replied back to her that I really enjoyed it and was a cute movie.
“Dammit.” I heard Matt breathe. I looked up from my phone to see him land on Pennsylvania Ave.
“That would be $150." He told him with a giant grin. Matt handed over the money and frowned. Sidney was definitely going to win this game. I felt my phone buzz.

It is! Unfortunately I have to cut my trip short due the weather so I'll be back in time for your game.

I smiled. She'll get to see me play! Well I know she's seen me play but now I can play my best for her.
"Earth to Nealer!" Marc yelled as he waved his hand in front of my face. "What has gotten into you?"
"You never looked like that when you were with Stella." Concluded Sid.
"Wait when did you and Stella break up?" Asked Matt. So I quickly told the guys about what happened. Then took my turn and finished my text to her. I hope I could see her tomorrow after the game. My phone buzzed during Brandon's turn.

I'll let you know. I'll most likely be with my uncle. Sorry :(

I was bummed but I know she wanted to see her uncle. It made me think about my family back home and how much I missed them. I thought about Rebecca. My baby sister was growing up too fast. Thank goodness my other brothers are looking out for her! "James! Take your turn man!" This time it was Matt who yelled at me.
"This girl must have some kind of spell over you." Brandon concluded.
"She challenges me." I smiled at them and rolled a seven. "Alright Chance." I picked up the card and my face dropped. My teammates looked at me awaiting the result of my card. "Take a walk on the Boardwalk..." Was all I had to say before everyone but Sidney laughed at my misfortune.
"That will be $200 sir." He had his hand out ready to take my last two hundred dollars. We decided to call it quits soon after that because Sid was monopolizing the game!

Good morning! I'm on the road again. Following my uncle. Text you when I'm back in the burgh :)

I smiled as I read her text when I woke up. I texted her back before I started to get ready for the game. She was sweet for letting me know she was okay and back on the road. I couldn't wait to see her again. Today we were playing the Boston Bruins. They were a good tough team to play. I finished up at home and headed to the arena. There I kept checking my phone to see if Em texted me that she got home safe. I was starting to worry but then remembered she's with her Uncle and she would be fine. I checked my phone one last time before I suited up and headed onto the ice for the game.

JN - With You Around - Awakening

And all my life, I looked for you
For arms that I could fall into

"Who do you think you are?"
"Excuse me?" I stared at this girl in a nice pink short dress and cowboy boots.
"I just was making a joke and you took it the complete wrong way. Besides your body language is all standoffish, so who do you think you are?" She repeated the last question to me. I stared at her shocked that she noticed. Do I love my fans? Of course!Did I hate signings? Yes. I hated all the fake people saying they love me when they don't really know me. It's flattering but annoying that's all they can say to me! 'I love you James, can I have your babies?' Gross! Leave me alone! I'd much rather have this in a more personal setting anyways. There is just way to many people in this line! I looked back up at this girl, she was the first one to call me out on my attitude and posture. I was stunned. I didn't know how to reply. She quickly was pushed along to talk to Kris. I noticed how they interacted. They laughed and joked. She seemed nice. Even Duper laughed with her. I continued to sign and not really talk to anyone. I was thinking about that girl and what she said. I took out my phone and started to text my good friend on the team. Then I looked up and I saw her. She was standing on the second level looking down at me. I wanted to talk to her. I needed to talk to her. I motioned for my agent to come closer.
"I need to talk to that girl in the pink dress." I motioned toward the second level. "Bring her to me." He gave me questionable look but nodded. I looked up at her again. This time we made eye contact. Someone else approached the table but I kept glancing up toward the railing. I saw Mark approach her and she looked down on me again. I nodded. I saw her follow him; she didn't look too happy. Okay now that I have her coming down here, what do I say? How do I answer her question with everyone here?
I concentrated on signing and taking a couple photos when I noticed she was on the stage with Mark. Oh geez now what. "Hi"
"Hello." She stated cooly.
"Can we talk after I'm done signing?" She looked shocked but nodded. "Meet me by the JC Penny's at 830." She nodded again and walked off the stage.

I quickly raced to the department store as soon as the last person left the stage. I prayed that she would still be there. Relief swept over me when I saw her sitting on the bench with her legs crossed. She stood up as I approached her.
"You're late. The mall is closing in 15 minutes. This better be quick." She told me. I felt bad for being late and she made it worse. But I still felt like I owed her an explanation.
"Let's talk in my car."
"Or mine." She stated.
"Or yours, where are you parked?"
"The center of the mall."
"I'm right here." I tugged her arm and pulled her down the corridor to the exit. Once outside she broke free of my embrace.
"You don't have to be so rough, I'm not going anywhere." I gave an apologetic look and continued to my car. She followed. I opened her passenger door before climbing in the driver seat. "So Mr. Neal what is that you want to talk about?"
"Mr. Neal? You can't be that much younger me."
"How old do I look?"
"22-23." I replied. She had such a baby face and it looked soft too. I saw a smile appear across her luscious lips. What was this girl doing to me?
"Thanks but I'm 25."
"Same as me." She definitely didn't look her age. I was glad that we were the same age. Then I spilled everything about my horrendous day. "I'm sorry for being an ass today. It's been rough. I was running late for practice. I was off on my drills. My girlfriend broke up with me, my car wouldn't start and I was at her house. That's why I was late. She had to take me home to get another vehicle. And I hit traffic." I told her. She didn't look too phased.
"Well, you shouldn't have taken it out on your fans. They paid good money to see and converse with you. They are a huge part of your success. If it wasn't for them buying your jersey and coming out to meet you your career wouldn't be where it's at today." She was absolutely right. "And texting on your phone is just rude! How could you not pay attention to the fans? What could have been so important tha-" I leaned over and kissed her. I don't know why she was turning me on by scolding me but it was hot. At first I could tell she was stunned but then her body started to react. Her lips kissed mine back. But she abruptly stopped me. "What are you doing?"
"Kissing you."
"Yes but why?"
"You're turning me on."
"You're just looking for a rebound Mr. Neal and it’s not going to be me!" She reached for the handle. But I locked the door.
"Please don't go. I'm sorry. Are you hungry? Can I take you out to dinner?" She slowly turned around in the passenger seat.
"Why are you doing this?"
"You're the first person to call me out on my actions and you're incredibly attractive." I saw her expression soften.
"I am quite hungry, what did you have in mind?" What came to mind were dirty proactive thoughts that shouldn't be discussed at this point.
"Is there a TGIFriday's or Applebee's in the area?" I asked.
"TGIFriday's is down the waterfront so Applebee's is closer. There's also a Chili's, Eat N Park, Buffalo Wild Wings..."
"Chili's sound okay?" She nodded and gave me the directions from the mall to the restaurant. She hopped out of the car before I could open the door. But I put my arm around her shoulders as we walked through the doors. Thankfully she didn't pull away.
"Hi, just two tonight?" I nodded to the waitress and looked down at her. She fit perfectly in my arms. She was the right height. We followed the waitress to our table and I pulled out the chair for her. I heard a soft thanks escape her lips and it took all might not to kiss her again.
"So Jimmy, why did your girlfriend break up with you?"
"Oh am I Jimmy now?" I laughed at her. She was starting to show her sweet, playful side and I was falling hard and fast over her. "I haven't been called that since I was in grade school." Not that the name bothered but I just preferred James. "Why Stella broke up with me was because she couldn't handle my lifestyle."
"Is it truly that or something else?"
"That is part of it." It blew my mind that she could read more into that sentence after barely knowing me. "She cheated on me while I was on the road. And you know when she told me I didn't care. I had fallen out of love with her. And her cheating proved to be the icing on the cake."
"But you're playing the victim, why were you so upset that she broke up with you when you weren't in love with her?"
"Regardless, wouldn't you be upset that you got dumped?" She bit her lip and looked deep in thought. "I was more frustrated that my car broke down than her dumping me." When I finished the server came by to take our orders. "But yes I tend to be an ass. I don't know how else to act.”
"Well, start by not thinking the world revolves around you. You give off the aroma and you seem very standoffish." She didn't tip toe around my feelings. But she had a point. "Did you let the fame go to your head?"
"Yes, I think I did."
"It's okay it happens to the best of people." She smiled at me. Her smile just made her more gorgeous and irresistible. Her hand was resting on the table and I reached over to grab it. I saw her blush at our touch.
"Can you help me?"
"With what?"
"Be a better person." She smiled at me.
"Only you can really change. But yes I will help you if you like."
"I would really appreciate your help."
"Well how bout start by asking my name!" I stared at her. I can't believe I didn't ask her name sooner. I felt so stupid for not asking for it.
"What's your name?"
"Emmaleigh."
"That's so pretty." She thanked me and took a sip of her water. "So can I call ya Em or Lee?"
"Actually some people call me Emma because of the way it's spelled." She then told me the unique way her parents spelled her name. Quite pretty. "But you can call me Em if you like."
"Okay, Em." We talked a bit more about her life; about her work, family, and friends. She told me her passion is photography. And I recalled the photo she had me sign. "You really are a good photographer. I liked that photo of me."
"Thanks. I love trying to capture players in motion. I am actually attending Tuesday’s game with my uncle."
"Where are your seats?"
"Uh 215 I think."
"So high! Did you want to sit closer?"
"Of course. One of my goals is to sit on the glass. But these are someone's season tickets." She explained.
"I can get you ice seats."
"For Tuesday?"
"No not Tuesday. I can get you a box at least if you want to take them."
"You don't have to do that."
"I want to do that, Em. I like you. Please let me upgrade your seats." She looked at me with her deep brown eyes as she thought about my offer. Just then the server brought our food. She ordered the chicken tacos and I ordered a steak.
"Okay James. I'll let you upgrade our seats to the box." She smiled at me. I know there is something special about her and I wasn't going to let her go. "My Uncle and I are going to try to get autographs after the game."
"Where?"
"Outside."
"So I should stop and sign autographs after the game?"
"I think it wouldn't hurt."
"How bout I save your toes and hands, and you just meet the players in the locker room?"
"James!"
"What?"
"I think my uncle would die!"
"Well what about you?"
"Of course, I think I'll turn into Jello." She laughed.
"So box seats and I'll have someone escort you down after the game. Got it." I smiled at her.
"Being nice to a fan is a start. But think about being nice to everyone who cares about you. Think where that will lead." She beamed at me.
"Emmaleigh, you are truly and amazing person. Thanks for standing up to me tonight. I am excited to get to know you more. We should go out again." I spilled to her. Her eyes darted around the room.
"James this is nice but don't you think it's too soon? You're girlfriend just broke up with you and like I said I am not going to be your rebound."
"Em you're not! I'm so over Stella. I was considering breaking things off with her anyway."
"Just give it some time please." She told me. "You're not the only one dealing with a break-up."
"Who broke your heart? I'll kick his ass."
"James! That won't solve anything." She stated. "You're supposed to be nicer to people."
"Not people who has broken the girl you like heart." she nodded but didn't say anything. "What happened?"
"I fell in love with him but he didn't feel the same way. He broke up with me."
"Bastard, how could someone not love you?"
"Well... I can be a bit moody, I like things my way, I can be a -" I didn't let her finish because I leaned over the table and all the food to kiss her again. And this time it didn't take her that long to react. The kiss left us breathless. "James." She breathed. I like the sound of my name rolling off her tongue like that. I am pretty sure her mouth and tongue would be good elsewhere. I had to stop thinking like that before I got too excited and hiked her dress up right here before indulging myself deep inside.
"What are you thinking about?" She asked me. God I wanted to tell her the details in my head but I just said you. "What about me?" She pushed the issue. I was thinking about how good you would look on your knees in front of me or bent over this table taking you from behind.
"Just you." She frowned a little not happy with the vague response. "If I tell you I'll be moving two steps forward." She studied my face for a moment and then had that aha moment.
"Oh James." She stated and it made me wonder if she was also thinking the same thing. "How did we end up here?" I gave her a quizzical look. "I was so turned off by your attitude toward me this evening and we are thinking about another date and possibly more." She said possibly more which means she probably was thinking about us in the sexual manor. Alright, we are on the same page!
"Why don't you come back to my house?"
"Oh I'm sorry I can't. I'm going down to see my cousin for his birthday tomorrow morning."
"That's fine. Where does he live?"
"His family lives in VA near DC. That's the same uncle is coming up for the game."
"That's pretty sweet. Are you and your family flying?"
"Nope. I'm driving and it's just me going."
"You're driving by yourself?" She nodded. "I don't like it. What if something happens to you?"
"James, I've driven this way numerous times. I'll be fine."
"I just don't like the thought of you on a highway by yourself. You better text me when you arrive."
"I would if I had your number," she smirked at me. We then exchanged numbers. The bill arrived and she offered to pay for her portion but I declined. "Thank you for dinner James." She told me as we made our way out to the car hand in hand.
"You're welcome Emmaleigh." I held her hand as I drove the way back down to her car.
"I'm the little blue Saturn." She told me and I drove to the only car in the parking lot. "Well, I’ll see you Tuesday." She turned and got out of the car. I opened my door.
"Wait a min Em." She walked over to me and I pulled her into a kiss. We stood there for awhile just kissing. She ran her fingers though my hair and my hand started to hike her dress up her thigh.
"James, we should stop before we do something we regret."
"I won't regret it." I pulled her body back to me and crushed my lips onto hers. She kissed me back before pulling away.
"Goodnight James." She gave me a peck on the cheek and walked around to her driver’s side.
"Goodnight Em." I sat back in the driver set and just smiled. She was a remarkable woman and I couldn't wait to show her off to the guys on Tuesday! I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I looked down and saw it was my agent. "Hello." What he could possibly want at 11 pm?
"What did you do to Stella?" He asked.

***

The inspiration for this story after actually meeting James Neal about two weeks. He must have been having a bad day because he was very rude and standoffish. His whole body language was off too and he was texting during the signing. But then I met him again just last night and he seemed happier. He told me it was nice to meet me. So that but him back on my good side!
Enjoy the story!

JS - I Do [Ch 3]

Here is the last installment of the wedding series! Enjoy :)
***

It was June 25th, my wedding day. Today I was marrying the love of my life. I couldn't be more excited and nervous at the same time. I had all my whole family here with me, my brothers were in the wedding. We had a ginormous wedding party. The biggest out the three friends. Our groomsmen included Mark, Eric, Jared, Sidney, Gino, and Cody. My nephew Parker is the ring bearer. Cydney is our flower girl. Lys' bridesmaids were Alex, Natale, Anna, Holly, Dineen, and Kaitlyn. Our theme was purple gold and black. I rolled out bed and glanced at the clock. The guys should be over here in about a half hour. I ventured to the bathroom and stepped into the shower. I thought of Lys. She and the girls should be getting their hair done at her hair dresser, Chrissy's salon. Lys told me she has been going to this lady for years. Chrissy gave Lys her first haircut. I just couldn't be more happy to marry her today! I finished washing up and stepped onto the bathroom rug. Then I heard the doorbell ring. I tightened my towel and went downstairs to answer the door.
"Hey little bro!" It was my brother Mark, my best man. Eric and Jared followed behind him.
"Hey guys." I told them.
"Mom and Dad said they would be over around 11." Jared informed me. I just nodded.
"There's some breakfast in the kitchen if you are hungry. I am going to get dressed."
"Nah I think you should get married in your birthday suit." Eric joked with me. I just laughed and ventured upstairs. I threw on a pair of underpants, shorts and a white tee before bounding down the stairs. When I reached the kitchen I noticed that Sidney and Gino had arrived. There was also a dozen of donuts in the middle of the island.
"Hey Jordan, Alex told me to bring us some donuts." Alex is always taking care of us. She is the mom out of the group. I reached for a glazed donut.
"That ones not yours!" I glanced over the box. Alex had each of the donuts customized. The filled donuts had little tuxes on the and glazed ones looked liked rings.
"She thinks of everything!" I concluded. Then took the designated groom donut. I glanced at the clock and heard the door bell. "That's probably mom." I walked to open the door and sure enough my parents stood on the other side.
"Hey sweetie. Why aren't you dressed?" Mom hugged me.
"Because the limo doesn't get here until 12." I replied. Her and dad were already dressed. I glanced over to the kitchen and noticed that most of my groomsmen were indeed dressed and ready to go. My mother gave me a stern look and I retreated upstairs to finish getting ready. When I came downstairs mother had her camera out and ready. All the groomsmen wore black tuxedos with a purple vest with a gold trimming.
"Big smiles everyone!" Mom took a few pictures with my brothers then with my friends and before we knew it we were in the limo on our way to the church. We were getting married in her church. This is the one where she was baptized, confirmed and raised. We pulled up in front of the Hungarian Reformed Church of Duquesne. Lys and her bridesmaid should already be here. They were using the parsonage to get ready. We walked into the church to see most of the church members welcoming people to their home.
"Hello Jordan!" Barbara, the church secretary, gave me a hug. "It's so nice to see you, is this your family?" I nodded and introduced my family to the church family. Everyone started to mingle and I went to go stand in the office with my best man. All the other groomsmen started to usher people down the aisle. Lys wasn't kidding when she said her church is gets hot in the summer. The 100 year old building doesn't have air conditioning. So Lys and I made some fans for everyone. I was sweating just standing still but I think it could be because of the nerves.
"Where you this nervous at your wedding?" I asked Mark.
"Nervous but excited." he replied. Just then reverend Posta came into the office.
"Hello hello!" he greeted us by shaking our hands. "Follow me." We did what we were told. We followed him down stairs, through the social hall to the back of the stage. He led us through a side door and up some more stairs. When we stopped we were in a room off to the side of the altar.
"That was pretty neat." Mark whispered in my ear. I heard the organist start to play soft tunes and I knew it was almost time to take my place at the altar. Lys had asked one of her friends from childhood, Matt, to play her wedding. Her mother is the normal organist of the church but she can't play and watch! Mark and I followed Rev out the door and stood in front of the altar. Jared escorted mom down the aisle with Dad close behind. Then Eric escorted Cathy. She took the seat next to Lys' grandmothers. That side of the church was completely filled. My side of the church was a bit different. I had about half the people in attendance than Lys had. I come from a big family but boy, she has me beat. Just then the doors opened and out walked Kaitlyn and Cody. They looked so adorable! Next was Dineen escorted Gino followed by Anna and Sidney, Holly and Jared, Natale and Eric. Alex, her matron of honor walked down next. Our flower girl and ring bearer, Cydney and Parker were adorable walking down the aisle. Finally the moment I have been waiting for...the music changed to the bridal march, everyone stood up. Then my heart stopped. Lys looked radiant. Jay looked happy too, carrying his daughter down the aisle. She looked absolutely stunning in her gown. It had crystal beading intricately designed on the bodice and had a full skirt on the bottom. She even had a lace shrug on her shoulders. She looked like a princess and her tiara was placed perfectly in her brown curls. When she reached me I was speechless. Jay gave her my hand then went to join Cathy. We proceeded up one more step to be in front of Rev. He started his welcome speech, then a little sermon after that it was vow time. I pulled out my little piece of paper.
"Alyssa, you are my better half. Before I met you I knew you were the one that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I promise to take care of you when you are sick, make you laugh when you are mad and comfort you in all other situations. I will support you and any wild dreams that you have because I believe in you. I love you with all my heart." As I said my vows I saw the tears in her eyes start to form and trickled down her beautiful skin. She sniffled before she started her vows.
"Jordan you are my rock. You are always there for me when I need you. I promise to always be there for you. I promise to support you through what ever changes may occur. I will be by your side always. I will take care of you when your ill, attempt to make you chicken noodle soup." I laughed. "Standby you if you were to be injured again. Hug you everyday. Kiss you unexpectedly. Hold you in my arms. I will love you everyday of my life, through all good and bad times. You bring out the best of me and through you I want to be a better person. I am thrilled to become your other half and walk this journey of life with you. I love you." Wow I don't think there was a dry seat in the house. Lys' vows were absolutely beautiful. I saw Rev even wipe away a tear. We then asked Parker for the rings and exchanged promises.
"I pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss your bride!" I pulled Lys to me and laid one on her. The whole congregation cheered. We whispered I love you's before walking down the aisle as man and wife! We stopped outside on the landing and waited for everyone to pass. Everyone was congratulating us and Lys was trying to introduce me, and I her, but it really wasn't working. Mostly people wanted to get out of the hot church! I was glad to be outside. There was a little breeze. After everyone was outside I grabbed Lys' hand and walked through the crowd as they blew bubbles at us! We did a little spin and walked back into the church.
"Please everyone is invited down stairs for some coffee and snacks before leaving for the reception hall." Mark addressed the crowd. We made our way to the alter to take photos. Lys allowed herself 3 hours for picture taking. I know she is crazy about pictures. We decided to have a coffee hour so that way the guests weren't sitting at the reception hall for hours on end. So while everyone ate downstairs we were taking photos upstairs. Lys thought of every combination and she made things go smoothly. We took all of my family photos first. Starting with Mom and Dad then the brothers. Then grandparents. Then the brothers and family. My mom and dad stayed while her's got on the altar and it was the parents picture. Then it was just her family. She wanted one with all her first cousins. And then a photo with just her and her grandmas. That one looked so cute! I am sure it will be on display in our home. After families we took the bridal party pictures. Now the families can enjoy something to eat before we go.
"Where is Anna?" Lys asked.
"I think she is still eating." replied Dineen. Lys just laughed. That's typical Anna for you.
"I will go get her" Jared stated and raced back down stairs. They returned shortly and we got on with the pictures. Then we made our way outside to the party bus! The rest of our immediate families will take the limo. Lys had a stop along the way to the venue to get pictures. She wanted the Pittsburgh skyline in photos. So we stopped across the river and took some gorgeous pictures with the skyline behind us. We were there for about 20 mins before finally making our way to the venue. We decided to have it at Consol Energy Center. Saved us a bit of money since we rented the banquet room at a discount.
"Oh boys not so fast! I have a surprise for you!" Lys lead us to ice instead of the banquet hall. In the center of the rink stood the Stanley cup! I can't believe Lord Stanley will be apart of my wedding photos. I just pulled her into a kiss! This was an awesome surprise. It was so great to win the cup again! We all got our skates on and ventured to the center of the ice. The photographer was there ready to take some pictures.
"Oh you know I love you Lys!" Holly stated hanging onto to her partner Jared for dear life! We took a few photos with the entire bridal party surrounding the cup! Then we took a few photos of just Lys and I.
"You should lift it in the air." she told him and I did. She then came and kissed me on the cheek. I bet that picture turns out cute. We did various different shots on the ice. I am sure the photographer got a lot of candid skating shots! I can't wait to see how this turn out. We ventured off the ice. And put our shoes back on before making our grand entrance. I looked at the clock. It was almost 6! Lys couldn't have timed that better.
We made our big entrance and everybody cheered for us! It felt great having Lys introduced as Mrs. Jordan Staal. We walked out onto the dance floor with rest of the bridal party. When the cheers died down the DJ announced it was our first dance. Lys and I picked Sand In Your Shoes. Only it was my turn to surprise her. The music started and Dan came out and started singing on the stage. Gavin, David and Andy soon joined him. Her face was priceless. She couldn't believe one her favorite bands was here. I was happy to make the day more special. We finished the song and took our seats. This Providence would play more songs after dinner. Soft Rat Pack music started to pour through the speakers as dinner was served. Lys hated wedding food so she made the food choices simple. Guests could choose from a pasta dish, chicken, steak and fish. We also had a long cookie table. A bunch of her family members baked cookies for months on end! After we ate we started to make our rounds to talk to each table and take a photo with them. Lys loved her photography. We are going to have a large wedding album. We even had a photo booth with props. I glanced over at it; it seemed to be popular. I noticed her little cousins over there.
"Jordan these are my cousins, Bobby & Beth. There children Amanda her husband Chris, Rachel and her husband Pat, and Zack with his fiancée Shelby." She introduced me. It was nice to meet her family. I was happy to introduce her to my cousins as well. They all seemed to love her. And who wouldn't? After our rounds it was the father daughter dance. She chose "Brown-eyed Girl". It was so cute. Then it was my turn to take my mom for a spin on the floor. I chose "You Raise Me Up" the Josh Groban version. It was a beautiful dance and mom cried. She was the best! Then This Providence came back on the stage.
"Hey David!"
"Hey Alyssa. How are you?" I forgot how many musicians she knows. "Congratulations." He said and he smiled at her. They played about 5 or 6 upbeat songs. Then the DJ came back on so we could do the bouquet and and garter toss. Lys threw her bouquet in the air and it was caught by Anna! Then my brother Jared caught the garter. They would make a cute couple. We danced a set of slow songs. Lys wanted to dance with her grandmothers so in the set she played Neil Diamond’s “Forever in Blue Jeans” and Frank Sinatra’s version of “Moon River.” She ended the set with a Dean Martin favorite “That’s Amore.” She had her whole family on the floor as we got ready for the bridal dance. We gave out shots of whiskey or peach schnapps.
"Alex!" Lys stated. I currently was dancing with my cousin Sam when I glanced over to see Ovechkin dancing with my wife. She was smiling then changed to Backstrom. He kissed her on the cheek when they were done. I was happy to see her cousin Cydney dance with her next.
The next thing I knew Lys was grabbing her mom and grandma to come up on the dance floor. "Sweet Caroline...bum bum bum...Good times never seemed so good. so good so good so good! I've been inclined...bum bum bum..." They sang to the Neil Diamond tune. It was comical! I finally had my wife in my arms again. We started dancing to a slow set. "I love you." She whispered in my ear. "Today has been amazing. Thank you."
"Thank you. Your surprise Stanley cup photo shoot blew me away."
"You inviting This Providence to sing our wedding song was breathe taking." I smiled at her and kissed her beautiful lips. We finished the last set of songs before I lifted Lys into my arms. Everyone cheered as we headed to the elevator and down to the limo. We made out the entire ride home. Once the limo stopped in front of our house I picked her up in my arms again and carried her through the front door. This would now be our home. And once we get back from our honeymoon Lys plans on moving the rest of her things. I didn't set her down til I laid her across our bed upstairs. We made love the first time as husband and wife.
"Good morning Mrs. Staal." I kissed her forehead. I was thrilled that she was my wife. She completes me.
"Good morning Mr. Staal," she leaned up and kissed my lips. "What time is it?" I rolled over to see the clock on the night stand.
"9:43" I turned back to face her.
“Mr. Staal why are we up so early after our wedding?” she asked me and kissed me on the cheek.
“The reason, Mrs. Staal, is that we leave for our honeymoon today!” she smiled and kissed me full on the lips which turned into a little more than making out. By the time we were done making love we were running late to our own luncheon. We were having it at one of Lys’ favorite Italian restaurants Buca DiBeppo! Everyone was in the banquet room when we showed up.
“Nice of you to join us.” My brother Eric teased me. He knew what was going on. Lys and I took our seats at the table with our parents. They were just talking about how everything went smoothly yesterday. We only had a few minor problems but they were easily over looked. I looked over at my wife. She had this glow about her. She was as happy as I was to be married with her. After we all ate, Lys wanted more photos! Of course she did! We took a bunch more.
“Didn’t you take enough yesterday?” Alex asked her. And he reply was ‘no.’ Typical Lys.
“Have a safe flight to Taiwan!” Holly hugged us on her way out when the photo taking was over. Lys and I were headed to Taiwan for a few days then to Hong Kong, to see the Great Wall of China and last to Tokyo, Japan. We would be gone for a total of 3 weeks. She was excited to go and she showed me all these cool attractions that convinced me to go!
“Thank you for everyone who came out to spend this magical day with us!!! See you in a few weeks!” she stated to whom was left at the luncheon before we said good to our families. We hugged and kissed everyone goodbye before we headed back to the house to finish up the packing.
“I love you Mr. Staal.” She kissed me.
“I love you Mrs. Staal.” This was going to the beginning of a great future!

SC - I Do [ch 2]

It was a gorgeous fall day in Cleveland when we all gathered for Sidney and Natale's wedding. We met at her house in Lakewood right on the outskirts of the city. The groomsmen and Sidney waited outside for the limo to arrive. We were having the ceremony in Natale's church. The groomsmen were Gino, Max, Kris, and myself.
"Who is ready to party?!" Max asked. He was definitely the partier.
"Didn't you party enough at the bachelor party last night!?" I asked. That shut him up. Hmmm... Did something happen that wasn't suppose to happen? I am not sure I left the party early because I had a headache. And wanted to be rested for today. I know Lys had a good time, she was a bit hungover this morning. She just took a couple of tylenol and drank some water. I saw Lys and Alex walk outside in their pastel pink bridesmaids dresses. Lys had her fancy camera in hand.
"Hey boys! Get together to please, I want a picture!" I shook my head. Lys the photographer. "Come on Jordan!!!" I stood with the boys under the tall oak tree. She snapped a few pictures. "Okay 1,2,3 JUMP!" We just stared at her and only Max jumped. "Aw come on! Try again! 1,2,3 JUMP!" This time we all jumped.
"That was so cool." exclaimed Alex looking at the picture. Lys nodded in agreement and made her way over to me. I gave her a kiss. "The limo should be here shortly." As soon as Alex stated that we saw the vehicle driving down the street. "Or it is here." We all laughed. And started to walk to the sidewalk stopping right before the tree lawn.
"See you at the church!" Lys exclaimed. Her and Alex waved goodbye to us.
"So what all happened last night after I left?" I asked no one in particular. I saw Max's eyes dart to Sidney's.
"Nothing much, we just drank a bit more before we turned it in." Sidney replied. Okay something definitely happened! Max is hiding something. I just get this weird vibe from him. But I am not going to press him. This is Sidney's day! We approached the church to see some guests had already arrived. I immediately started helping people to their seats.
"Bride or Groom?" I asked them. I offered the women my arm and walked them down the aisle. "Hey Flower!" I shook his hand then turned to his girlfriend Janelle and gave her a hug. "How are you guys?" I asked them.
"We are well thank you!" Janelle smiled.
"Great to hear." I offered her my arm and led them down the aisle and the groom side of church. "Enjoy yourselves. See you at the reception." I retreated back to the main hall and saw more of the team. "Hey guys! Glad you all could make it!" There was Kris and his girlfriend Lexi, Tyler with his girl Anna, Ben Lovejoy with his wife, Craig Adams and his family, James Neal with his date Ashley, and many more people! It was great that the whole team came out to support his wedding! I even spotted the Lemieux family in the crowd. Thank goodness Sidney hired one reporter to cover his wedding. He doesn't like the limelight but he figured it would be better this way than having a bunch of people trying to get glimpses and in return ruin the wedding. It would break his heart if Natale didn't have her perfect day. I saw Sidney escort his grandmothers down the aisle then took his place in front of the altar. Troy and Trina followed behind their son. Then Max escorted Mrs. Neubert down the aisle. I turned and saw all the girls in narthex. The bridesmaids included Lys, Alex, Sidney's sister Taylor and Natale's sister Clare as maid of honor. All the girls looked radiant in their short sleeveless pastel pink dresses. We then got in line to walk down the aisle. I was paired with Lys, the newlyweds were together, Kris and Taylor were together and finally Clare would be escorted by Max. Soft music started to play and we started our down the aisle.
The ceremony was your traditional catholic ceremony. Everything turned out smoothly. We took some pictures inside the church with the bridal party and families. Now, we were sitting in the limo on our way to the reception.
"I don't understand why you have to take communion! It's a wedding for pete sakes!" Lys commented. Most the people rolled their eyes and ignored her comment expect Max.
"I don't get it either Lys." she just nodded in agreement.
"Hey guys we are going to get a few more photos when we reach the docks." Natale informed us. Her reception was to going to be on a boat on lake Erie. When we arrived the photographer was already waiting for us! We took some photos in front of the ship, Nautica Queen. Then we took some pictures with the Cleveland skyline behind us. Once we boarded the ship we waited outside the dining hall for our names to be announced.
"Alex Malkin escorted by her husband Evgeni Malkin." the crowd cheered for the them. "Alyssa Trunzo escorted by her fiancé Jordan Staal" We were greeted with cheers upon entering the room. "Next we have Taylor Crosby escorted by Kris Letang." They were applauded as well. "Finally we have the maid honor Clare Neubert escorted by the best man Max Talbot" Max and Clare bounced in the area with smiling faces. "Now the moment you all have been waiting, I am proud to introduced...Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Crosby!" everyone cheered and whistled for the newlyweds. They then took their place on the dance floor and Norah Jones voice flooded the speakers!
"Come away with me in the night/Come away with me/And I will write you a song..." while the couple danced we retreated to the head table to take our places. After that the newlyweds went to cut the cake. Then joined us and the toasts began.
"I was really honored when Sidney asked me to be his best man. We have had some great times throughout the years. You gave me support when I decided to leave Pittsburgh. You were there for me when I had one too many drinks at Mario's or when I had stupid prank ideas. I am so grateful to be here for you as your best man. You and Natale make a great couple. I couldn't be happier for you! I wish you all the best! Let 's raise our glasses to Natale and Sidney!" We raised our champagne glasses and took a sip. Next up was Clare.
"Big sister I couldn't be more honored to be at your side on your wedding day. We have been through our fair share of sisterly fights and annoyed each other to no end but we will always be there for each other. I knew from the moment you brought Sidney home for thanksgiving dinner three years ago that one day he would be my brother-in-law. I couldn't be more thrilled for your wonderful future together. Congratulations!" She raised her glass as did everyone else and took one more sip of champagne. Just then Mr. Neubert stood up.
"I can't believe my girl is all grown up. I wouldn't have given you away if were any other man. Take care of her or else!" We all laughed. "Thank you all for joining us for this special occasion. We hope that you enjoy the food, the music and company. Now for the blessing." then the priest from the ceremony blessed the food we were about to receive. The waiters brought out our salads first then the entrees and cake for dessert. I noticed Lys get up when her cake was set down. I know she doesn't like it but I wondered where she was going so I followed.
"Hey where ya headed?" I asked when I caught up to her.
"The cookie table." she smirked. I continued to follow her. There was all kind of goodies on the table! Lots of Italian desserts. She loaded up her plate and headed back to the table. When we returned Nat and Sid were getting up to go meet and greet with the guests. Just then fun. "We are Young" started to play.
"Oh I love Nat for playing this song! Let's dance!" Lys dragged my arm onto the dance floor. "I know I gave it to you months ago/I know you're trying to forget/but between the drinks and subtle things/the holes in my apology, you know/ I'm trying hard to it back!" Lys sang very loud and off key. Soon Max joined her in singing. Why don't I know this song? As the song ended more up beat tunes started and more people joined us. "I need a drink."
"Me too." Lys hesitated but she let him follow. I ventured back to the head table to rest for a bit because if I know Lys- and I do- she is going to dance the night away. I glanced over to the bar and noticed that Lys and Max were having some words. Lys didn't look too happy. I started to get up and go over to her but they started to come back to the dance floor. I quickly resumed my dancing position acting like I didn't see anything. Lys kissed me. We danced to a few more but then were cleared off the dance floor for the father daughter dance. Natale chose Daughters by John Mayer. Tears were both present in their eyes as they danced. Then the announcer called Sidney and Trina onto the floor. The Perfect Fan by The Backstreet Boys came out of the speakers. Trina had tears streaming down her face as Sidney swept them across the dance floor.
"Hey what song were you thinking of dancing with your mommy?" Lys asked me.
"I really haven't given it much thought." I shrugged. "What about you?"
"Yes." of course she has! "I was thinking Brown-eyed Girl or Stealing Cinderella." she replied. But I didn't have a chance to reply because the mother son dance ended and dancing music was blasting through the speakers. "I am grabbing another drink. Meet you on the dance floor." she smirked at me before heading to the bar. I wasn't in the mood to drink a lot tonight. I'll grab a beer soon. I noticed Max was at the bar when she arrived. What has gotten into them two? But my thoughts were interrupted when Tom Brady and his wife Giselle danced passed me.
"Hey Jordan!" he greeted me and we shook hands.
"Hey Tom, enjoying yourself?" I asked him.
"I am. Everything turned out-"
"-spectacular." his wife finished his sentence and smiled. They continued dancing as they passed and I noticed Lys and Max were right behind them. She walked over to me and put her arms on my shoulders and started to sway her hips back and forth. I love when she does this but can't get this image of her and Max together out of my head. We danced a little longer before the floor was cleared so that the bouquet can be tossed and garter thrown. And guess who won Alyssa and Max. Go figure! But Lys is technically next to get married so it kinda worked out. When he started to put the garter on he used only his teeth to slide up almost her entire thigh. She turned beat red. Hope someone took a picture or captured it on film. Then after that was all said and done Max kissed her on the lips. I mean full on the lips and she kissed back too. That's what broke my heart. At that moment I wished Natale's reception was not on a boat! I just wanted to get away. Far, far away. When they pulled away I just stared at her. She walked over to me and pulled outside to the top of the boat. After stumbling up the stairs I pondered how many drinks did she have?
"Jordan I am sorry. But there is something I need to tell you." she started. These are never good. My immediate thought was that she is breaking off the wedding and marrying Max. "I made out with Max last night at the bachelor party. We didn't have sex just some heavy kissing." she paused. "I am so sorry but I came looking for you so that we could do it. And then the boys bought me a drink and couple shots and I was way over my happy spot. I know it shouldn't have happened. I wish I could take it back but I can't. Again I am so sorry. I wanted to tell you this morning but I couldn't let it ruin your day. I love you so much." I just stared back at her. I couldn't believe she cheated on me with one of my good friends. I didn't have any words to say to her. I knew she didn't mean for it to happen but it did and by the looks of it Max wanted more. I needed not to see her. I just wanted to be done with the reception and go home. "Jordan please say something." I shook my head no and turned and walked away. I heard her sniffle and I knew I made her cry but I did not care at that moment. I walked into the dance hall and heard them playing a few slow songs.
"Hey Jordan where is Lys?" Max asked. The nerve of him.
"Why so you can fuck her this time?" I spat at him and continued my walk to the bar. But my walk was interrupted by Alex this time.
"Lys didn't mean to do anything with Max. I should have stop her. Blame me." sweet Alex told me.
"Sorry Alex this is not your fault at all. Excuse me." I finally reached the bar and ordered myself two beers. I walked back to the head table and sat there and drank the first one in five minutes. Then the Dj stated that it was time to start the bridal dance. I reached into my pockets. All I had was a ten and a twenty. I'll give them the twenty. I downed my second beer and got two more before getting in line to dance. I noticed Max brought Alyssa down from the top of the boat. Her eyes where all bloodshot and her nose was running. How dare he comfort her. How dare he kiss and touch her! She is my fiancé! I put my "dollar" in the bag and took a shot of whiskey. Then danced with Natale. "You look so gorgeous!"
"Aw thank you Jordan! And thank you for your continued love and support. Sid greatly appreciates it as do I!" We danced a bit more then I went to get beers number four and five.
When the boat docked I managed to have nine beers, I didn't see Lys for the rest of the night and finished an entire tray of cookies off. I finally saw her crawl into the limo with Max right behind her. I don't understand it. He even has a girlfriend! Dineen would be so upset if she knew what Lys and him did. And Alyssa and her are suppose to be good friends too. They have known each other since middle school. I didn't speak to anyone on the drive back to the hotel and once there Lys approach me.
"I am spending the night in Alex's room. See you tomorrow. I still love you." she turned and walked into the hotel with Alex and Gino. Max wasn't too far behind. I sulked back to the hotel room. I undid my tie and got undressed throwing the tuxedo over one of the chairs. I brushed my teeth and climbed into bed. My head was spinning. I knew I drank too much and thankfully passed out before I could replay the events again in my head.
In the morning I noticed some movement in the room.
"Sorry I woke you. I was just gathering my things. Alex said they would take me home. I left you a bottle of water and Advil on the nightstand. Have a safe travel back home." she told me. This is stupid. I love this girl and she made a mistake. She got drunk and kissed another guy. I know how she gets when she is vulnerable like that.
"Wait Lys don't go." she stopped to look at me. "I forgive you." I told her. She just stared at me.
"You do?"
"Yes, I know how you get when you are drunk but it was a mistake. A mistake that will never happen again." she shook her head.
"I promise to never do that again. I felt so horrible about the whole situation." then she started to cry.
"Baby, don't cry. It's over and done with. It's in the past. Let's just move on." I got up and kissed her passionately on the lips. I love this girl so much and I am not going to let one stupid mistake jeopardize what we have. We deepened the kiss and whatever she had in her hand fell to the floor as she out her arms around my neck. I put my arms around her lower back and lifted her to lay down on the bed. We made out a bit longer before making love. Afterward I held her in my arms just thinking about our future together when I heard a cellphone go off.
"Oh that's me. It's Alex." She climbed out of bed to retrieve her phone and chatted with her best friend. "She wanted to know if we were going to the luncheon."
"Oh shit I forgot." I completely lost track of time. "Let's go!" We quickly dressed and raced to the restaurant in the hotel.
"Glad you could join us." Malkin teased us as we sat down at the long table. Lys just blushed. We chatted about the wedding and other things before Natale and Sidney left to go on their honeymoon. They were taking a mediterranean cruise visiting Italy, Greece and Turkey just to name a few countries. Lys and I are debating where to go on ours.
"Be safe and have fun!" Lys said and gave both of them a hug. "Take pictures too!"
"Enjoy yourselves." I told them. We all started to say goodbye when Max pulled me aside.
"Jordan I just want to apologize for getting involved with Lys. It was wrong for me to make out with her but even more wrong to kiss her in front of everyone. I am sorry." he told me. I forgave Lys so I should forgive him?
"Okay, thank you for your apology." I can't forgive him just yet. He did come onto my fiancé. I turned to continue my goodbyes. Lys and I went back to the room to gather our luggage before heading home.
"Too bad I don't have time to visit my cousins."
"Babe you have relatives everywhere." I told her.
"I know! And just you wait till you meet all of them! They are great." I smiled at her. I smiled at her. I couldn't believe we were getting in just a short with months. Still a lot of planning to do but end result will be perfect. I love this woman and cannot wait to spend the rest or my life with her.

EM - I Do [ch 1] (sequel to She Has My Heart)

Gino and Alex’s wedding was here before we knew it. The wedding was held in Alex’s hometown of Arlington, VA. Her sister, Emmy, was the maid of honor and then Lys and Natale as bridesmaids. Gino had his brother as his best man and Sidney and I as groomsmen. We got ready in the nearby hotel that we all were staying. The ceremony would be in her church that she grew up in and the reception back in the L’Enfant Plaza hotel. Pink was her theme. We wore black tuxes with light pink lapels. It matched the bridesmaid’s dresses. They were strapless dress that hit knee length then became longer in the back. Lys looked very nice in it. We were all waiting for the limo to ride over in the church. It was about one-o-clock. The ceremony started in an hour. Lys was making sure we were gone before Alex came down to the lobby.
“You look gorgeous.” I whispered in my fiancé’s ear then kissed her cheek. She blushed.
“Thank you but you guys need to go!” She ushered us out of the hotel room and down to the waiting limo. The limo would drop us off at the church then come back for the girls. “Oh Gino, you look so handsome!” Lys gushed and kissed him on the cheek. We all climbed into the elevator. I could tell Lys was holding back tears and I just pulled her close to me. The elevator dinged letting us know that we were on the first floor. Lys walked us outside. “You all look so happy and handsome! Knock em dead!” We piled in and drove away to the church. It was a short distance to the church. We soon met up with everyone else and started to escort people down the aisle. I saw Cathy and Jay and immediately went to offer her my arm.
“Hello Jordan, how are you?” She hugged me and I shook Jay’s hand. “You look handsome.” She now took my arm and we walked down the aisle.
“Thank you. I am doing well…did you guys have a nice drive?” They drove down last night after they both got off work.
“It wasn’t bad at all, just hit the cruise control.” Jay explained. We reached the pew on the bride’s side.
“Thank you Jordan.” I nodded and walked back down the aisle to escort another guest. I saw the limo pull up about quarter til two. I looked down the aisle and saw that Gino was escorting his mother and father down the aisle. Then his brother, Denis, escorted Alex’s mother down the aisle to her seat. He then took his place next to his brother by the altar. Stationed up there was a Russian translator for Gino's family. He would repeat after the priest. The doors closed and I turned around to see the girls climbing out of the limo. I walked down with Sidney to meet our girls. We then helped Alex out of the limo. She looked so radiant. Her dress was strapless. The fabric pulled and tugged at the bodice then filled out in the skirt. It wasn’t poofy but flared nicely away from the body leaving a nice train behind her. There were little beads throughout the bodice all meeting on the side to form jeweled design. Gino would fall in love all over again with her. I wonder what Lys picked for her dress. I bet its something princessy. I could picture her in something like that. Although I think something form fitting would look nice too. Her dad escorted both of his girls up to the church. We were all positioned in front of the door. Alex and her dad were off to the side for now. Natale and Sidney walked down first, then it was Lys and I and Emmy to follow. They closed the doors once more. The bridal march started to play and everyone stood up. They opened the door to reveal Alex and her dad. I glanced back at Gino. He had the biggest smile on his face. He was truly happy and content to be marrying her.
After the ceremony we took pictures in front of the altar and then some outside of the church before getting into the limo and heading back to the L’Enfant Plaza. We were all laughing and joking around.
“Alex thank goodness you didn’t burn the your dress while lighting the unity candle.” Lys commented.
“I know I was praying that I wouldn’t”
“Would be funny if he caught jacket on fire.” Denis commented. And his brother just shook his head and laughed.
“Let’s have a quick toast!” Emmy suggested and passed out glasses of champagne. “To a perfect reception just like the ceremony!”
“Salut!” the Italians chimed. “Cheers” Said everyone else. “Nice driveway!” stated Lys. Everyone looked at her.
“What?” but Lys didn’t have time to explain because the limo came to a halt at the hotel. The couples climbed out to the limo and went inside. We lined up and waited for our names to be called as we walked into the dining hall.
“Alyssa Trunzo escorted by Jordan Staal.” We walked out did a little spin then took to our spots at the bridal table. “And now, give it up for Mr. and Mrs. Evegni Malkin!” the whole crowd stood up and applauded. “The couple would like to share their first dance.”
“It’s Big and Rich ‘Lost in this moment,’” Lys whispered in my ear. “It was between this and a Taylor Swift song. But this suits them.” I kissed her on the lips. “So thankful that we got the room situation under control.” She stated again. What she is referring to, is that they hotel booked the wrong room for the reception. It would have been interesting squishing 400 people into a 250 space. But fortunately we fixed the problem in time. We sat down and the food started to arrive. The whole reception was nice. We partied till about 11 then retreated up to the hotel room.
“I can’t wait until our wedding.” Lys cooed in my ear. “I can’t wait to be called Mrs. Jordan Staal!”
“I can’t wait for you to be Mrs. Staal!” I kissed her lips and we made love the rest of the night.

In the morning we woke up early to see Alex and Gino off. They were going to Hawaii for their honeymoon. Lys and I still haven’t figured out where we are going. She wants to go to Taiwan. I think it would be nice to go to the Bahamas. We got dressed and headed down to the restaurant in the hotel. Natale and Sidney greeted us.
“Morning!” the girls hugged while Sidney and I exchanged handshakes.
“What’s good?” Lys asked while she pulled up a seat.
“Oh I am just getting some eggs and toast.” Natale stated. We both looked over the menu while they got their food. Lys ended getting French toast and I order pancakes. After we ordered the newlyweds appeared.
“Hey Mr. and Mrs. Malkin!" We greeted them. Alex was just beaming! You could tell that she was ecstatic. We all enjoyed breakfast with the newlyweds. We exchanged stories of last night!
"The father daughter dance was adorable!" Natale commented. Pretty soon more people started gathering for breakfast, including the families! Mommy Malkin looked so happy. Lys went over to sit with her parents after she finished eating.
"Yinz leaving today?" she asked them.
"Yes. We are going to stop and the see kids on the way home." her mom replied. Those kids she was referring to was her adorable little cousins. Well they are not so little. Cody is 12 and Cydney is 9.
"Aww give them hugs and kisses from me!" she told her parents. " I really wish I could have gotten more time off of work. I miss them."
"Will do." her mom replied. Cydney and Cody were both going to be in our wedding.
"Alright we are heading out after we finish our breakfast." her dad stated.
"Aww okay. You are not staying for the goodbye luncheon?"
"No, sorry toots."
"It's okay I know yinz wanna see the kids and get home at a reasonable time." she gave her parents a hug goodbye. I said goodbye and wished them a safe travel. Lys and I retreated back to the hotel room before slipping into something more appropriate for the goodbye luncheon. Lys wore a cute yellow sundress with high heel brown sandals. I threw on khaki pants and a powder blue top.
"That brings out the color in your eyes." she told me and kissed me on the cheek as we made our way to the reception hall. It was the smaller one of the two and I noticed most of the team had stayed. It was great to see new and old players like Max Talbot. He signed a deal with the Philadelphia Flyers about a year ago.
"Max!" Lys called out his name. "How are you!? I am sorry I missed you last night!"
"That's because you were too busy eyeing up your fiancé to notice me!" Lys turned 10 shades of red. It was cute. I shook his hand.
"It's good to see you again. How's Philly treating you?"
"Not too shabby but I definitely miss playing with you guys!" he said.
"I so want a Philly cheesesteak now!"
"You are more than welcome to visit anytime!"
"Oh really, Max?" Lys cooed. "I would love to visit you in the city! I have only been there one other time, my freshman year of college for Panic! at the Disco concert." I shook my head. My girl is crazy about concerts. She slapped my arm lightly. Just then Gino waved us to the head table.
"Chat later Max." We walked over there and sat down. Soon the room was silenced and Gino stood up to say a speech.
"I just want to say a thank you for everyone who came to celebrate with my beautiful wife and I. We appreciate at it greatly. We so wonderful to have friends and family as yourselves. We hope you enjoy yourself. Thank you." he sat down them quickly stood back up. "oh enjoy food." he laughed. Just then coach Bylsma stood up and started saying something about Gino. Before we knew it turned into a little bit of a roast told him. Then Lys stood up and said something about Alex.
"Alex, I didn't want you to be left out but Gino never let her be in charge of the directions. This one time we were looking at the monuments in DC and she got us lost in the Reagan airport using a GPS." Alex just pouted and then her sister turned stood up. It was a funny lunch. The newlyweds were such good sports about it. As lunch came to a close we started to say our goodbyes. Alex and Gino were on the evening flight out and Lys and I had a drive back. "Safe travels. Love you! You best text me when yinz land!!!!!" she told her person. I gave them both a hug goodbye. Lys and I walked back up to our hotel room. We gathered our luggage and checked out the room. "Want me to drive back?" she asked as we were loading my car.
"No I'll drive."
"But you drove down."
"I know but you have work tomorrow and if you need a little nap you can take it." she kissed me on the lips.
"You are so thoughtful! I love you!"
"I love you." We got situated in the car and made our way back to Pittsburgh.
"Just think this time next year I will Mrs. Staal!"
"You are correct! I can't wait!" I beamed at her. She looked so radiant in the glistening sunlight. We drove on as we talked about our wedding plans. Next up will be Sidney and Natale's wedding.

MT/KL - High Heels and Hockey [Ch 2]

Here is another chapter from my friend! Enjoy!

***

Dineen and Alyssa just downed their 8th shot of the night. "You know.." Alyssa said putting her shot glass down. "I think you guys are getting us drunk to take advantage of us." They laughed at her and shook their heads. "Whelp, you didnt need to get me drunk for that! We are getting married. Remember!!??" They had made a joke of it all night. Infact Max even introduced her to Kris as his future wife. "Haha, I remember." Max looked up at the clock and then to Kris with a worried look. Kris looked at Dineen and Alyssa and asked, "How are you girls getting home?" Alyssa shrugged her shoulders. "We'll prob just call a cab to take us to a hotel for the night. Then go home in the morning." Kris shook his head. "No way. Have you seen some of those cab drivers? They look like will murder the next person that gets in the car." Dineen was cracking up at this thinking of the night they went out for their friend Anna's birthday. And then the lightbulb went off. "OMG!" Everyone turned to look at Dineen who grabbed Kris's arm. "March 17th...I literally RAN into you at Diesel!" All of a sudden Kris's eyes lit up. "I DO remeber you!" He then looked at Alyssa. "You were the girl that kept acting like you were taking pictures of Dineen but you were totally taking pictures of me. Haha." Alyssa blushed. "Yeah that was me." Alyssa finished her drink and set it down. "Well guys it was fun. But me and Neen gotta get going. I gotta go outside and call the cab." Max started to stammer. "Why dont you girls stay at my place tonight? You each can have your own room. And you can go in the morning. We can even do breakfast." The girls thought about it for a second and reluctantly agreed.
****************
The next morning....

"Omg...what the hell happened last night? I feel like I was hit by a truck." Dineen rolled over and was face to face with a shirtless Max.
"Try a hockey player. How much do you remember?" Max asked sitting up alittle in bed. Dineen was still laying down.
"Well...I definately dont remember leaving Marios. I remember you running into me...but then the shots started and I blacked out.." She tried to see if he was wearing pants. "Did we have sex?" She suddenly realized she was only wearing one of his tee shirts.
Max laughed, "Damn..I hoped it was good enough to remember." Dineen's eyes lit up. "Well you seemed to enjoy it last night."
Dineen covered her face with the sheet. "PLEASE tell me you used a condom!" Dineen threw the sheet back down and looked at him. He had a look of guilt on his face. "Fuuuck...I'm not on the pill." Dineen sat up and looked at Max. They sat there in silence just looking at each other when they heard it. "Ahhh...Kris. Ahhh, Fuck yeah..." They both started busting out laughing. "Im probably just worrying about nothing. Its almost impossible for me to get pregnant anyway." The look of relief surged over Max. He reached across Dineen to the night stand drawer and pulled out a condom.
"Ready for round two?" He said with a devilish smile.
"Hell yeah I am." said Dineen.

MT/SC/KL - Hockey and Princesses [Chapter 2]

Here is the next installment! Enjoy!

***

“Oh I am so sorry!” the waiter stated. She continued to apologize and explained that it was only her second night working by herself. She was startled by seeing the Pittsburgh Penguins at the table and tripped over the rug. The manager then came over and said that the meal would be free to make up for the spill.
“Thank you! But my jersey! How is it ever going to come clean?”
            “Wash it…”
“Anna you know how she feels about that.” Lys stated.
“Why don’t I get you a new one and something to else to wear.” Max told her.
“Thanks because you know I really should start wearing and t-shirt under my jersey.” Max winked at her and adjusted himself a bit as he stood up and walked to his car. He came back with a black t-shirt and handed it to her. “Thank you.” She said and went to change in the bathroom. When she came out the shirt was a little snug but she didn’t mind it smelled like him. And he smelled delicious! She was in heaven. The friends ordered when Neen returned to the table. Neen got her cheeseburger, Anna got a milkshake, Lys and Sid were splitting a banana split, Max got a buffalo chicken salad and Kris ordered the breakfast scrambler. Conversation flowed throughout the entire meal. Everyone really got along and even some people were becoming closer to each other. “Thank you for taking us out tonight and for letting me borrow your shirt. I’ll give it back to you.”
“Keep it, it’s only one shirt.”
            “Are you sure?”
“Positive.” He smiled at her. “Can I get your number so that we can setup our dinner date?”
“Yes you may.”  They exchanged numbers and gave hugs before Neen got into Lys’ car. The guys piled into Max’s beamer. The girls waved as they drove off first.
“So spill! What happened between you and Sidney?” Anna asked.
“Well, we exchanged numbers, made out a little by my car and…”she realized she still had his jacket. “Crap! I have his jacket still.”
“It’s okay, I have Max’s shirt.” Anna just laughed. “What do you have of Kris’?”
“Nothing, just his number!” she smiled.
“Who would have thought that we would actually meet them?” Lys told her friends. They were on their way back home.
            “Never in a million years!”

“So what is up between you and the Alyssa girl?” Max asked on the way home.
“I like her. She is really cool! What do you think about Dineen?”
“Man, I felt bad because I made her faint but at the same time I am glad because I think she is cool and I’d like to get to know her.”
“At first I thought you were going to go after Anna the way you two were talking.” Commented Kris.
“She was hot but not really my type.”
“I thought Lys was cute but Sid snatched her up.” He chuckled. “But it is good, I like Anna.”
“Tonight was a good night guys.” Max concluded.
“Indeed! I can’t believe we were so fortunate to meet some amazing girls tonight.”
            “Neither can I!” agreed Kris.

A few days later Dineen found herself pacing back and forth from her kitchen to her bathroom checking to see if her make-up looked good. She was waiting for Mr. Talbot to pick her up. When she was in the bathroom, going pee, she heard the dogs start to bark.
“Figures!” she stated and quickly finished up before answering the knocking door. Her eyes fell on the most gorgeous man. “Hello! Please come in.” he walked in and handed her a jersey.
“For you.” He smiled at her. She blushed and thanked him. And of course everyone wanted to meet him before they left, so she introduced him to her mom, brother and grandparents. “Nice to meet all of you.” He smiled. They shortly said their goodbyes and made their way to his car. Dineen was watching his butt in those black dress pants he was wearing as they walked down the walkway. He opened the door for her and then proceeded to get in. “You’re family seems nice.”
“Yea, I love them!” she told him. She couldn’t believe that this was actually happening. Just then her phone went off. She read the text. “Sorry, that was from Lys.”
“Ah, her and Sidney are going out tomorrow.”
“Yep, Kris and Anna are going out tonight too though.”
“Yea! He followed me out to this area!” Max told her. Neen just laughed.

As instructed, Kris parked the car and waited until Anna came out. He was not allowed to come in. Anna explained that her parents were kind of weird when it came to her dating, so it was best not to mentioning anything yet.
“Hey!” she said when she stepped into his car.
“Hello, these are for you!” he handed her a bouquet of flowers.
“Aww thank you so much. They are pretty!” He just smiled at her. He really wanted to say that they matched a pretty girl but thought it was way too cheesy for a first date.
            “I hope you are hungry.”
“I am always hungry!” she replied.
“What kind of foods do you like to eat?” he asked.
“Oh anything Polish! I love perogies!”
“I don’t think I have tried one of those.”
“Really?! Well you need to try them! I will make some for you one of these days!” she told him. They kept driving until they reached the restaurant.
“I know you said you like Polish but what about Italian?” he asked when he parked near Bravo’s at the Waterfront.
“I love Italian and this place!” she exclaimed to him. He put the car in park and came around to open her door and escort her inside. Once inside, they were quickly seated because he had called ahead to make a reservation. Good thing he did. They lobby was full of people! “You have to try the Riesling they have here! So good!” They were seated next to the window. The couple ordered a bottle of wine and some appetizers before they saw some familiar faces walk past the window.

“Was that Anna and Kris?” Neen asked.
“Yea I think. Do you want to say hi?”
“It doesn’t matter to me.” So the couple went in to say hi to their friends. “Hey guys!”
“Hey! How are you?” Anna asked.
“Good, enjoying your time out?” Max wondered.
“Yes, and you?” replied Kris.  Max nodded.
“We were going to head over to Bar Louie.”
“Ah, well enjoy yourself.” Stated Anna.
“Thanks you! Bye!” Neen told them. Dineen and Max walked out of the restaurant and into the one right next door. “What are the odds of seeing them down here?” she asked.
“I think it’s funny that we did run into them.” Then Max changed the subject. “So have you lived in Pittsburgh your whole life?”
“Yep! I bleed black and gold too!” she smiled.
            “Just Pens?”
“No I love football too. You should have seen me during the Super Bowl! I could hardly watch the TV!”
“I know it was an intense game!”
“It was and there is always next year! Besides now I devote myself to cheering for Lord Stanley!”  Max just laughed.
“Yea, hopefully we can make that happen! What do you think about the new arena?”
“Well, I haven’t been to it yet.”
            “You haven’t?!”
            “Nope.”
“Well that needs to change. You and the girls should come to a game.”
“Sounds like a plan!” they smiled at each other and the waitress approached them.  They ordered and launched right back into conversation.
“You should come to Friday’s game and we can go out afterward if you like!” he told her excited.
“That would be awesome but how are we going to get tickets?”
“You can sit in my box if you like or if you girls want closer seats I can see what I can do…”he trailed off.
“Anna and Alyssa can come too?”
            “Yea fer sure.”
“That would be amazing!” she smiled at him. Their food arrived and they continued to talk through out the rest of dinner. After dessert they walked back out and he took her hand as he led her around the square. Neither wanted the date to end. Even though most of the stores were about to close they still kept walking around, talking. They eventually sat down in the middle of square by the fountain behind Starbucks. Then it happened. Max leaned in and kissed her on the lips. Dineen kissed back and they started to make out on the bench.
“Do you want to come back to my house?” Max asked. Dineen nodded. They quickly walked back to the car and drove the short distance to Max’s house.
