SC - A Different Side of Me [Ch 1]

Hey so this idea just popped into my head and i am going to go with it for now! i have no idea how long it will be. probably just another short fiction. so enjoy!
***
I stared out into the sea of reporters. It was the same routine after every game. But there was something different about today. A young girl stood amongst the crowd. She started to ask a question but every time someone would over talk. I felt bad. After my interview I saw her standing in the middle of the room looking lost.
“Hey.” I approached her. She had long brown hair that was in a side ponytail and brown eyes to match. She stood about 5’5 but then realized she was in heels. She wasn’t skinny but not fat either, just your average build. She was cute! And I was immediately attracted to her.
            “Hi.” She meekly responded.
“You’re new.” She blushed a little.
“Yes I am filling in for Sam while he is on vacation.”
“Ah, that’s cool. Next time you just need to speak louder and it doesn’t hurt getting closer to me.” She nodded and I saw her lose her balance a bit. “Are you alright?”
“Yes I am just fine.” She lost it again.
“Why don’t you sit down?” I pulled her over to the bench. I handed her a bottle of water
“I am so sorry. I just haven’t eaten anything yet. I came from class straight to here.” She told me. “Thank you for the advice, I must be going.” She shook my hand and started to make her way out the door but almost fell again. She stopped herself by holding onto the wall.
“Please sit down and let me finish getting change and I’ll take you out for a bite to eat.” I was not going to take no for an answer. I helped her back to the bench then went to find something to eat to tie over til I was finished.  I found a banana, eat –n-park cookie, and a bag of pretzels.
“Thank you.” She smiled. I took off my under armor and my leg pads before stepping into the shower room to change into my suit. I came back out to see some color return to her face.
            “Feeling better?”
“Very much so I really don’t think you need to take me out.”
“Alright then.” I took her arm and led her to my car. I opened the door for her.
“Mr. Crosby, I said you don’t have to take me out.”
“Please, call me Sidney. And I know. I am not. Just get in the car.” I smirked at her. I hopped in the driver seat and we started to drive. “So you say you had class?”
“Yes I did.”
“What kind of class?”
“Graduate school. I take it online but I opened at my other job, went back home, took a shower, then had a team meeting for my group, changed my clothes and left to come here. I just forgot to eat.”
“Wow graduate school, what are you taking?”
“Entertainment Business.” I was taken back by her response.
“What do you want to do with that?”
“Ideally own a record label but I also wouldn’t mind touring with a band.” I smiled. Touring with a band must be similar to road games. Okay why did road head just pop into my head. I glanced over at her. She definitely was turning me on. Not mention she had gorgeous big boobs. I quickly shook the thought through my head as we approached my driveway. “You took me to your home?”
“Yep!”  We drove up the driveway and I parked in the garage. She jumped out of the car before I could open her door. We walked in, pasted the laundry room, down a little hallway and into the kitchen.  Just then I felt like an idiot. “Forgive me, but what is your name?” She giggled.
“Alyssa.” That’s a pretty name.
“Well, Alyssa you have your choice of pasta, or pasta or how bout pasta.”
“Hmmm…you know what pasta sounds good!” I smiled at her. She had such a cute smile. Just then her cell rang. “Excuse me…Hi Mr. Morrison…yes I was able to get the interview…yes sir I can have my notes typed up by then…bye.”
“Mr. Crosby I appreciate this but I really must be going. I need to type up my notes of the interview.”
“It’s Sidney, and you can borrow my computer while I cook.” I led her to the study and logged her onto my computer. She looked kind of surprised.
“Something wrong?” She shook her head no.
“You have an HP, I just thought you would have a Mac or something.”
“I’m technology challenged. You’re lucky I remember to update my twitter once and a while.”
“Yea once in a blue moon! You need someone to tweet for you!” I just laughed and shook my head.  I left her there while I went to prepare some dinner. As the water was boiling, I peeked back in to see how far along she had gotten.
“How’s it coming?”
“Great!” I read over her shoulder.
“Crap, that came out wrong.” I didn’t mean to say it the way she wrote.
“Sidney, do you want to read over it before I send it?” she laughed.
            “Can I?”
“Sure but it’s due by midnight.” I glanced at the clock it was 11:20.”
“Well type faster!”  I teased with her and went to finish her pasta. I brought the bowl into the study and we exchanged places. I read while she ate.
“You know what’s missing?” I looked over at her. “Wine.”
“You drink?” she nodded. “How old are you?”
“23.” I was surprised. She looked younger. “I know people think I am younger. I guess it will come in handy when I am 30 and look 27.” We both laughed. I seriously thought she was 19 or 20.
“Well I will get you some.” I turned around to face her. “This sounds great! Send it away.” She sent it and then came into the kitchen. I was just finishing up pouring a glass of red wine that I had.
“You know Max bought me this wine.”
“Well you didn’t have to use it if it was special.”
“I was saving it for something special.” I poured myself one as well. I saw her blush again. “Cheers!”
“This is delicious. Thank you again for treating me tonight.”
“It was my pleasure.” I smiled at her. “Hey why don’t you stay here tonight!” I suggested. “I have spare bedroom or mine is always open.” This time when she blushed her ears turned red.
“This is all flattering but you just met me today. We barely know each other.”
“Ah so separate beds it is.”
“I really would like my own bed in my house.”
“But I assure you my bed is just as soft and it’s better!”
            “How is it better?”
“You’ll get to wake up next to me!” Alyssa laughed.
“I can see that I cannot win this so I will wake up down the hall from you.” I was being so persistent that it scared me. There was just something about this girl.
“Alright. Let me show you to your room.” She put her bowl and glass in the sink before following me up stairs. We passed my bedroom.
“Sidney, do you think I can borrow a t-shirt or something?” I nodded. I showed her the bathroom and then her room before I went to mine and retrieve a plain white tee. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” We stood there awkwardly for a moment.
            “Well goodnight.”
“Right, goodnight.” I left her alone and retreated back to my room. I cannot believe that I invited a strange girl into my home. What was I thinking? She could want to rob me or worse kill me. But she looks so sweet and innocent. I argued back and forth until I felt something get under the covers.
“I can’t sleep. Hope you don’t mind.” She said and snuggled next to me. I wrapped my arms around her and immediately fell asleep.

My alarm went off at 6am. I went to roll over to turn it off but my arm was stuck. That’s when the memories of last night flooded back. Alyssa stirred and I was able to get my arm free to hit the snooze button. I turned back to look at her. She looked so peaceful sleep. Her brown hair was tasseled across my pillowcase. Her body fit so perfectly next to mine. She then opened her eyes. Those big gorgeous brown eyes stared into mine.
“Good morning.” I leaned over and kissed her on the forehead.
“Morning. What time is it?” she yawned.
“6AM.” She closed her eyes again.
            “So early!”
“I know but I’ve got morning practice at 8.”
            “I have work at 11.”
            “Where do you work?”
            “Subway restaurant.”
“Oh! I love their club sandwiches.” I smiled. ”But I am going to shower.”
  •             “Wake me when you are done.” She rolled back over. I climbed out of bed and into the bathroom. I wish she had joined me in here. Goodness! Why am I thinking like this about her? I started the shower and let the water cascade over my body. Damn, there is just something about her that enchants me. I finished showering and put on a towel before stepping out into the bedroom to find something to wear.

“Nice butt!” I heard when I was putting my boxer briefs on. She just giggled and hopped out of bed and out of the room. I put jeans and t-shirt before running after her. I went down to the bedroom hoping to catch a glimpse of something but she wasn’t there. That’s odd. She must be in the bathroom, I thought. But the door was open when I walked past. So I ventured downstairs. That’s when I heard something frying. There she was, standing in the kitchen with nothing but my t-shirt and her underwear, cooking breakfast. “I hope you like scrambled eggs!”
“I love them.” She then set down eggs, toast and a glass of OJ in front of me.
“Mange!” she smiled and grabbed her plate and glass before sitting next to me on the island. “I know it’s not much but it’s the least I can do after you made me dinner last night. Besides I am not the best cook.”
            “These taste delicious!” she beamed.
“Thank you!” We finished eating our breakfast. “Just let me get changed and I will be ready to leave.” She told me at 7. I am normally walking out the door now but who cares if I am late, she is worth it. I turned the news on to catch a bit of the weather. About 5 minutes later she bounded down the stairs in her blouse, dress pants and high heels from last night. “Hope you don’t mind but I just left your shirt on the bed.”
“Nope don’t mind at all. I’ll be right back; it’s kind of chilly this morning. Would you like to borrow a jacket?”
“Sure a hoodie would fine.” I went up stairs to retrieve two jackets. “Thank you!” We walked out the door and into the car.
“So what subway do you work at?” I asked.
            “It’s the one by Kennywood.”
“You are from that area I assume.”
“Yes around there. It’s a little town.”
“Cool, you got me craving a sandwich now, maybe I’ll come visit.”
“Aww Sidney, you don’t have to. It isn't exactly the closest one.”
“But it’s the closest place I will get to see you.” She blushed. “What time are you working till?”
            “7.”
“Would you like go out after that?”
“I will need to go home and shower first. I will stink like subway!”
“I am sure you will smell just fine.”
“I will not! My clothes reek and my car is starting to as well.” She laughed.
“So can I pick you up at 8?”
“Yes you can! I will make sure I get out of there on time. But sorry if I am running late.”
“No worries, can I get your number?”
“Of course! And that way I can text you my house address.”
“Yea! So that I know where I am going!” We laughed.
“Just to warn you, my house is not the cleanest house in the world and I still live with my parents.”
            “That is perfectly fine.”
“But I mean my room is messiest.” Alyssa continued. “I am in the process of cleaning out my closet so everything is all over my room.”
“Maybe I’ll send a maid to help you!”
“Haha my grandmother normally helps me but lately she hasn’t been feeling good.”
“Aww well I hope she feels better.”
“Me too! You’ll have to meet them one day! You need to get through them and then through my father if you…nevermind! I am jumping the gun here.”
            “If I what?”
“Oh Sidney, really don’t worry about it.”
“If I wanted to date you?” She sighed.
            “Yes.”
“Well then I would like to meet them as soon as possible.”
            “Really?”
“Of course!” she smiled! “Do you have any siblings?”
“Nope just all my little cousins!”
“I have a sister named Taylor.”
“I know, you are the odd person out in your family.”
            “What do you mean?”
“Everyone’s name starts with a T except yours!” she giggled. She must be a fan to know that about me. If she is one at least she is not letting it on too much.
“Right, yea I don’t know about that one!”
“It’s okay, I like the name Sidney! It’s also my little cousins name but spelled with a C-Y instead of S-I”
            “How old is he?”
            “She. And just turned 8.”
“How cute, I like little kids.”
“Me too!” Alyssa agreed. We then pulled into the parking lot of the arena. I saw Max getting out of his car as well.”
            “Morning Sid!”
“Hey Max! I am going to be right back. Just going to walk Alyssa to her car!” he nodded while she waved. I took her hand. “Where to?”
“The parking garage, if it’s still there!” We walked to the third level and on the way we exchanged phone numbers. “Have a great practice! See you tonight!”
“Nah I will see you for lunch first!”
“You really don’t have to come visit me, you’re already driving out to the area tonight. It’ll just be a waste of gas.”
“It will not be wasted gas because I am coming to see you.” She softly smiled.
“Then till I see you again."
